The Australian Irish Dance Company was formed in October 1996 in response to public demand for an Australian Irish Dance Company able to provide quality and exhilarating performances along similar lines as the international successful shows “Riverdance” and “Lord of the Dance”.
The Director of the Company is Ray Ayres, one of Australia’s best know dance choreographers and leading exponent of Irish Dance in Australia. Ray has toured America, Japan and China with the Irish group “The Chieftains”.
The Company brings together a wealth of talent from dance schools within Victoria, all successful in competitions at state, national and international levels.
“All those international Irish Dancers have been here and they’re great…but these are our very own Aussie dancers and they’re fantastic!!” – Denise Drysdale- Every Sunday
